Tributes began pouring in on Thursday evening, following news of the death of Mary Ronan, wife of Irish businessman and property developer Johnny Ronan. Mary died peacefully, at the Blackrock Clinic, on Wednesday 14th August surrounded by her family and friends. The Waterford native was the beloved mother of three children – John, Jodie and James. Her death notice on rip.ie reads: ‘RONAN(nee Tilson) Mary (Dublin and formerly Newtown, Waterford) August 14, 2024, peacefully, at the Blackrock Clinic, surrounded by her family and friends. ‘Beloved mother of John, Jodie and James, wife of Johnny and sister of the late Denise. ‘Very deeply regretted by her brother and sisters; Dick, Honour, Hope, Betty, Ann, Carmel and Gail, daughters-in-law Suzanne and Jennifer, son-in-law John, grandchildren Sophia, Stevie, Alex, Georgia, Tom, Pippa, Amelia and Simone, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.’ ‘Reposing at her home on Friday evening from 5.00 o’c until 7.00 o’c. Removal on Saturday afternoon to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Donnybrook to arrive for Funeral Mass at 1.30 o’c, and then to the Garden Chapel at Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross (for close family and friends).’ Tributes began pouring in, with one person writing: ‘Deepest sympathy to Johnny, Mary’s children John, Jodie and James and to all the Ronan and Tilson Family. Mary was a beautiful person. May she rest in peace. Thinking of you all at this very sad time.’ While another wrote: ‘A lovely, friendly and warm person. May she RIP.’ Family have requested that mourners wear colourful clothing to the funeral – ‘as it is a celebration of Mary’s life’. Today's top videos
