  1. A Humble Request, please make Heal Vindicator PvE Viable.

Jobber.6348 replied to Arenir.1032's topic in Revenant

I wasn't aware of any sweeping changes that suddenly killed Renegade's ability to be an essential boon role so my knowledge on the matter may be rusty. Even so, wouldn't the solution be to fix that up instead of shoving utility onto ONLY ONE HALF of Alliance? If the idea is to turn Vindicator into an Essential boon provider, imo a much better way to do it is via the dodge, which is just shared between all manner of builds and is in fact part of rotation no matter the Vindicator build. Just a spitball idea: Say maybe Song of Arboreum additionally allows your dodge to now provide Alacrity, and when Energy Meld is activated, it extends boon durations in addition to granting more Alacrity.

  3. New Necro minion tips?

Jobber.6348 replied to MImurOdo.4932's topic in Necromancer

What CafPow says is accurate but here are some builds for you to consider anyway: Condition build: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PSwAEtjlFwmYMsK2IW8PeNVA-DyIY1ouXMAAA-e Power build: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PSgAEZlFw8YMsK2Im+WlNdA-DSIYRU1rFAAA-e The Condition build is way tankier and requires less knowledge of the enemies you fight and you kind of just wade through your enemies with sheer durability and damage. The Power build requires more logical gameplay and is trickier to pull off but at the same time, more durable than the run of the mill full Power damage open world reaper.

  4. Cleave on Scepter auto attack?

Jobber.6348 replied to Lahmia.2193's topic in Necromancer

Well for one, the two weapons are not similar at all when you compare these two auto attacks. Flamestrike is a weak initial strike with a stronger delayed attack left under the target. Necro Scepter chain is a ramping chain of 3 hits that deals more Conditions on the 3rd hit. They have particularly different design and intentions especially when you factor in the rest of their respective scepter skills. Necro's feel like it wants to be a single targeting Condition ramping weapon while Fire Attunement Scepter feels like it wants to do burst damage in AoE instead. I won't say no if Anet does add it but it would be an "oooookay but why...?" kind of change, especially when we have Pistol now that does the whole "Conditioning in an AoE" thing rather well against open world packs.

  5. getting used to shroud tips

Jobber.6348 replied to Isopod.4156's topic in Necromancer

It's a temporary 3rd weapon set. You can imagine it like an empowered form as well if you play Reaper or Core where Shroud protects your health bar. Usually, Shroud skills do much more damage than your weapon skills but camping it means your weapons are sitting there off cooldown, which means damage not being dealt. You should get into a habit of using your weapon skills and then going into shroud to go boom boom boom damage than getting out of it when your weapons are finished recharging and repeating the process.

  6. What's Renegade's intended purpose in PvP now?

Jobber.6348 replied to Shagie.7612's topic in Revenant

Especially after seeing land Spear, yea this has to be done. They know NOTHING about what makes a weapon work. All I see is a whole ton of flair and 0 logical application of game mechanics. And for the love of god, another weapon with little to no Combo-ing potential on a 2 handed set which leave us back again with Shortbow being the only good Condi/Hybrid set.

  7. A Humble Request, please make Heal Vindicator PvE Viable.

Jobber.6348 replied to Arenir.1032's topic in Revenant

We already have Herald for BoonHealer Support and Renegade for AlacDPS (or AlacHealer), I doubt Anet is going to entertain a third. And besides, putting it on Scavenger Burst is just going to make people play BoonDPS Vindicator instead of Heal Vindicator who needs to juggle that 3s CD Alliance Tactics to apply their essential boon, then wait 3s to go back into Vik, then swap back again in 3s to apply essential boon... no thanks man. It's gonna be so messy to maintain anything at all. Heal Vindicator is an excellent GvG healer right now. I think that's fine.

Jobber.6348 replied to GWstinkt.6094's topic in Revenant

But I think many core traits need serious looking at, and any legacy traits that only interact with single Legends or Weapons need to be decoupled and generalized. It's still really suffocating for builds to need to default to specific legends and traitlines. Also I think the whole Pip mechanic is often forgotten by the devs as a balancing feature and also a small part of the Energy system. They could explore making certain skills and traits interact positively or negatively with pip Energy generation instead of simply going HA! +10 Energy cost for you!

  10. Torment is condi, Life siphon is power...

Jobber.6348 replied to Dadnir.5038's topic in Necromancer

What's weirder is we literally just got Swords which was a Life Stealing/Self Healing weapon set, so why another Power weapon with more Siphoning? I would like it better if it was a Chill heavy weapon to work with Deathly Chill, at least make it a good competitor with GS on Condi Reaper. I also wish for a weapon that can closely stick to the enemy like death and GS isn't it. Swords definitely isn't it either, I actually hate that Swords have the unga bunga leaps but they're just realistically largely redundant on a weapon set which likes and enjoys its ranged damage application. The Endurance thing is such a volatile thing to do to deny enemies Endurance bar when Weakness essentially does that. Stacking Weakness and sucking Endurance would be VERY oppressive against literally every class in the game in competitive. Also a note: While Bleed is Condi Reaper's biggest Condition, Torment is also very present in Condi Reaper build via Pistol and Scepter. So yea, the Torment thing tracks.

Jobber.6348 replied to Yozora.9176's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Because Town maps/hubs are usually where people go to do some inventory management and go back out to the world. Go to any map with a meta train going on or a world boss. Tons of nonsensical chatting and emote spamming. Lion's Arch is also one of the biggest hangout spots, if you holler there, people might feel interested enough to respond.

  13. dual wielding animations needs an update!

Jobber.6348 replied to Glorifying.4072's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I wouldn't be against it but I also understand if Anet says no regarding this, especially if a weapon is a blade and wants to do slashes and stabs and has the player doing a weird stabbing animation with a Mace for example. This game's animations being tied to the weapon hand the skill is casting from is rather archaic but this IS an old game afterall. Some weapons do cast a skill with both arms together because it's designed to do so, which is about the best we can get.

  14. Herald returnee - PvP question and or help with viable builds

Jobber.6348 replied to chaoslordlol.3165's topic in Revenant

It just means you can pull it off and anyone of the same skill level can too. Being viable isn't a skill level thing, it's a fundamental gameplay interaction thing. I only really think if it's unviable if no one can currently pull it off or find results with it. But if there's result, it's worth looking at. If this youtuber can somehow bring his Herald to rank 3, maybe it's worth looking at his success and studying it instead of "lol skill level" his content away. No idea what kind of high horse you get on to write away someone's skill level, maybe you should make videos and guides for people instead of hiding on forums and bashing other people's efforts.

  15. Herald returnee - PvP question and or help with viable builds

Jobber.6348 replied to chaoslordlol.3165's topic in Revenant

This is the backwards way of thinking about it. The reason Hammer is good is because of all the anti melee nonsense we have in the kitten game these days. I'm so sick of Harbingers and Scrappers man. It feels like suicide attacking into them with melee without having like 30seconds of Resistance and Resolution permanently on you because if you get Blinded, Weakened and what not, it's already freaking over. I'm also so perplexed as to why there is so many nonsense that specifically counter Power and Melee while Condi and Ranged just has no counters period. "But sir, cleansing is a counter! It removes damage entirely!" yea, but if the guy is running some cleanse spam build they aren't killing you, which means you have full agency and control of the fight which is what ultimately allows you to set up scenarios to push enemies off the point. The game is just annoyingly kittenous these days that I pretty much decided to live in WvW where at least I can have some semblance of fun running a full damage spike build to 1 shot squishies.
