OverviewThis position will be a shared position in collaboration with UNCG to support the growth of the genetic counseling program. This position is a 1.0 FTE genetic counseling position at Cone Health with responsibilities divided between Cone Health Cancer Center and UNCG. Responsibilities will include 0.6 FTE time in the oncology genetics clinic and 0.4 FTE time with responsibilities within the UNCG genetic counseling program. UNCG genetic counseling program responsibilities include supervision of a student-led genetic counseling clinic, teaching within the genetic counseling program and other program administrative duties.

ResponsibilitiesAssists physicians and other medical staff with the educational efforts of the department.
Complete tasks level of quality that matches the program effectiveness.
Document cases in the EPIC EMR system and develop follow-up recommendations for patients; document that ensures confidentiality.
Responsible for the development, implementation, and coordination of all genetic counseling activities. This includes collecting, reviewing and interpreting family medical histories, medical records, test results, and other relevant information; developing genetic counseling plans, including risk assessment, testing and treatment options, and providing counselling and education to the patient and their family.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:Required: Masters of Science in genetic counseling
EXPERIENCE:New graduates are encouraged to apply
Minimum of two years genetic counseling in a clinical setting required
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
Drivers License | Valid Drivers License
RequiredAmerican Board of Genetic Counselor (ABGC) Board eligible/Board Certified
