The Health & Well-Being Institute works to catalyze positive change in Wisconsin residents through evidence-based and community-engaged health promotion programs to improve health, build community capacity to identify and address health inequities, engage in collective action, and achieve greater health equity.

About this Position:
The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for performing day-to-day management of a multi-state cooperative extension technical assistance project to support prevention, treatment and recovery for those with opioid addiction as well as co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders in rural areas. The PM will be responsible for contributing to the planning and designing of implementation projects, managing the budget, education, communication, and events. They will be critical in project management, financial planning, problem-resolution, and reporting while collaborating with other leaders and extension colleagues throughout Wisconsin and other states.

Responsibilities:

Manages a single project from start to finish or one phase of a large project under limited supervision.
  • 25% Creates a project plan, monitors progress and performance against the project plan, and identifies, resolves, or escalates risks and issues
  • 30% Manages the activities of outside contractors to ensure they are integrated into the project and that the organization receives satisfactory standards of service
  • 10% Facilitates the estimation of project costs, resources, and time required to complete the assigned phase of a project and monitors activities, negotiates for resources, and assigns tasks to ensure these targets are met. Follows established change control processes if targets can no longer be met
  • 15% Prepares regular reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team
  • 5% Sets priorities, allocates tasks, and collaborates with project staff to meet project targets and milestones
  • 5% Assists with the development and auditing of project-specific budgets
  • 10% Serves as a subject matter expert and unit liaison. Provides updates on project components and timelines to stakeholders as needed

Education:

Preferred

Qualifications:

Required:
-Two (2) or more years of experience in project management or managing programs or initiatives as part of other job duties
-Detail-oriented with highly effective time management skills
-Proactive problem-solver with the ability to work independently toward project deadlines
-Strong written and oral (including formal presentation) communication skills
-Experience with education and presentations using Zoom or another virtual platform

Preferred:
-Familiarity with Cooperative Extension
-Experience with Canva
-Experience with newsletter distribution programs such as Eloqua
-Experience with maintaining websites using WordPress

Work Type:

Full or Part Time: 50% - 100%

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Appointment Type, Duration:

Terminal, 12 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding

Salary:

Minimum $65,450 ANNUAL (12 months)
