The Gwinnett Tech Foundation thanks Siemens for the generous donation of ten Level 1 Electric Vehicle chargers. These chargers will be utilized for our Electric Vehicle Systems Technician Program, offered through the Continuing Education Department at our Alpharetta campus! Students will gain the networking and troubleshooting skills they need to connect equipment, work through potential operating system issues, and maintain equipment. They will also work on soft skills needed to thrive in this new, ever-changing environment. #GTCProud

Meet Hannah Lutrey, a graduate of the Heavy Diesel Technician Program. Although she already held a college degree, Hannah has always been passionate about expanding her knowledge. Starting her career as a parts and warranty representative in an after-market parts manufacturer, she realized she couldn't fully understand the technicians she was working with. As a result, she decided to enroll in the Heavy Diesel technician program.During her time at Gwinnett Tech, Hannah actively participated in the SkillsUSA Postsecondary Program and was a medalist in the competitions, proudly representing Gwinnett Tech. Following her graduation from the program, she continued to stay connected with the program director and volunteered her time to provide guidance and support to current students. Hannah enjoys sharing her vast experience, knowledge, and tips she has gained in the field.#GTCProud

"I first knew I wanted to get into Welding when I took an Automotive class in high school. That piqued my interest in Welding because, in my free time, I would take some time to practice welding. From then, I knew I wanted to advance my career in that field."Carolina is a recent graduate of the Welding and Joining Technology Program. She discovered her passion for welding in high school and found Gwinnett Tech's Welding and Joining Technology program while researching programs in her area. While she admits that learning welding hasn't been easy, she always remembers the wise words of one of her instructors: "We are not looking for perfection; we are looking for progress each day."Despite managing a full-time student life, Carolina started her career in welding as a Tig Welder and Fabricator. She aspires to eventually start her own small welding business and become a certified welding inspector.#GTCProud #Classof2024 #WomenInWelding
